Every child deserves a safe, permanent, and loving home. YOU can help CASA for Douglas bring hope to more kids in foster care by broadening the impact of your run/walk.

A fundraising page is automatically created for all run/walk participants. Your friends and family members can make contributions in your honor to cheer you on! Share your fundraising page with your connections or on social media to help CASA serve more children in foster care. Don't forget to tag CASA for Douglas County and use the hashtag #CASAOmahaSuperhero!

If 45 run/walk participants encourage 22 friends to donate $22 dollars each, CASA will reach our goal of raising $22,000 in 22 days to serve 22 more kids!

Every new dollar contributed to CASA for Douglas County will be matched by the Parker Family Foundation!

More About Us

THE CHALLENGE

There are over 1,500 children in foster care in Douglas County due to abuse and neglect. These children are removed from everything that is familiar to them, which causes uncertainty during a time of life that should be marked by stability.

OUR APPROACH

A CASA Volunteer offers stability in multiple ways. By visiting their CASA children at least monthly, a trusting relationship is established, creating a better environment for the child to grow and thrive. CASA Volunteers advocate for the best interest of these children, with a priority placed on safety, permanency, and wellbeing. There are a variety of professionals actively working to accomplish permanency for families. The CASA Volunteer is the only person exclusively dedicated to ensuring that the child's voice is respected and heard.

OUR NEED

In the 2018-2019 fiscal year, 249 volunteers advocated for the best interests of 491 children. CASA for Douglas County's vision is to provide a CASA Volunteer to every child in foster care who needs one. Over 1,000 children in Douglas County still need someone to lift their voice in the courtroom and in the community.

YOUR SUPPORT

Your donation will go towards training and supporting volunteer advocates. It takes $1,000 to provide one child with the diligent advocacy of a CASA volunteer during a calendar year. With your help today CASA for Douglas County can achieve our mission of lifting every child's voice in foster care.
